These Terms of Service govern your use of the Preservely mobile app and the preservely.app website, both provided by Hung Studios. By downloading or using Preservely, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Preservely.
Preservely is distributed through the App Store, so your license to use the app is Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms sit alongside it and describe how our service works. Where the two conflict, Apple's agreement governs your license to the app itself.
Preservely helps you track the groceries in your pantry, fridge, and freezer, and reminds you before they expire. It is a household organization tool, not a food safety, nutrition, or medical service.
Preservely is free to download and use. Full pantry tracking works entirely on your device and requires no account.
Creating an account is optional. It is not required to use Preservely, and it is not required to purchase or use Preservely Pro — an account only extends your Pro access and pantry data to your other devices.
If you do create one, you are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
You can delete your account and everything stored with it at any time from inside the app: open Settings and tap Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and permanent. If you would rather we did it for you, email support@hung-studios.com.
Preservely Pro is an optional upgrade that adds barcode scanning, unlimited items, the AI Pantry Assistant, custom reminder schedules, multi-device sync, and removes ads. The AI Pantry Assistant and multi-device sync run on our servers, so those two need a free Preservely account; everything else works without one. Pro is offered as:
Preservely Pro Monthly — $2.99 per month, after a 7-day free trial.
Preservely Pro Annual — $19.99 per year ($1.67 per month), after a 7-day free trial.
Preservely Pro Lifetime — $39.99 as a single one-time purchase. This is not a subscription and nothing renews.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same price and period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when a subscription is purchased.
Prices are shown in the app in your local currency, taken directly from the App Store, and may vary by region. We may change subscription prices; where required, Apple will ask for your consent before a renewal at a new price, and you can decline by cancelling.
You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your Apple Account settings — Settings → your name → Subscriptions on iPhone. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro access through the end of the period you have already paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
All purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies rather than by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something went wrong on our end, email us anyway — we will help you sort it out with Apple where we can.
Please use Preservely for its intended purpose. Do not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app; interfere with or place unreasonable load on our servers; attempt to access another user's data; resell or redistribute access to Preservely Pro; or use Preservely to store or transmit unlawful content.
We may suspend or terminate access that violates these terms or that threatens the security of the service or other users.
Preservely Pro uses AI to estimate expiration dates, suggest recipes, offer storage tips, and detect categories from barcodes. These outputs are generated automatically and are estimates only. They can be wrong.
Nothing in Preservely is food safety advice. Expiration estimates and storage tips are a convenience, not a determination that food is safe to eat. Always check the packaging, use your own judgment and senses, and follow the guidance of your local food safety authority. Do not rely on Preservely to decide whether to consume something.
Recipe suggestions do not account for allergies, dietary restrictions, or medical conditions unless you account for them yourself. Check every ingredient against your own needs.
Preservely relies on a few outside services: Apple for purchases, Google AdMob for the ads shown to free users (non-personalized only), Open Food Facts for barcode product lookups, and an AI provider for the features in section 7. What each receives is described in our Privacy Policy.
Barcode product data comes from a community-maintained database and may be incomplete or inaccurate. You can always correct any detail Preservely fills in for you.
Preservely is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that Preservely will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that reminders will always be delivered on time — notification delivery depends on your device and operating system.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hung Studios is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, spoiled food, or missed reminders arising from your use of Preservely. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for Preservely in the twelve months before the claim.
Pantry data stored only on your device is not backed up by us. Keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above, and continuing to use Preservely after that date means you accept the revised terms.
